How To Make A Big Huggable Totoro Plushie Tutorial

Hello Fluffies! I am preparing gifts really early this year for Valentines, and it is probably the hopeless romantic in me coming out to play during this time of the season. I am quite famous for cooking up a real cheese fest and even though I have already made a present for my 'secret man', I somehow missed out someone special who has been with me on my journey for the past seven years. My best friend.

Anyways, I decided on making him a huge cuddly Totoro plushie and thought that maybe you would like to make one for yourself? Or a special someone for the season of lurrrrve (deep voice)?

Totoro was one of my all time favorite anime by Studio Ghibli and somehow this obsession has infected my sense of dressing in some way or other. Take a look at this one if you are interested. I thought that this would make the perfect gift for a best friend because this very animation spoke about friendship, love and life. All the feels into one. Can't express it better than this fat little chubby guy.

Is he easy to sew? Very. Easier than sewing the smaller version because you have so much space to move and work with. The only thing you will need is patience. He didn't take me long though, a little over 3 hours and he was all stuffed and cute.

Things you will need:
Felt
Scissors
Needle
Thread
Stuffing
Glue (Optional for more crisp detailing)
Patience ( So much this..)

Take note that this tutorial was filmed with the smaller Totoro version. The actual one was a tad bit too huge to film comfortably and certain details would have had to be excluded because of the size. Since detail is more important to me so that you understand the process, I made the smaller version to walk you through it all. Talk about sacrificial love here (HAH). The template will be broken up in two because Totoro's body is huge and fits an entire A4 sized paper. So yep! Good luck fluffeteers!
